It is also a heartwarming account of a family’s love for one another and an upclose and personal account of a country’s culture, informed by the author’s deep love for her nation and her courageous efforts to help her people. Koofi's story is gripping, engaging, and deeply enriching. The book helped me to gain a better understanding and appreciation of Afghanistan and its people.
